check fuses... can u hear the fuel pump pump up
start at basics... it was working and now not so unless you have played with anything inbetween then it should be one of the basics...
you need fuel, air and ignition to make a motor go so....
but before all that is there an FI fault indicated?
if not then all the bikes system are apparently working so....
as mentioned make sure you hear fuel pump cycling when you turn on ignition. This will help you know if pump does work but then look at checking fuel supply which might need some diconnetions.
Then look at spark by checking with at least a timing light that uses as inline connector. This will show if power is being supplied to plugs.

fuel pump pumps up......haven't checked pressure or flow
Not sure if this is related.

A friend of mine was putting an led tail light in his 2006 GSXR1000 and he found the easiest point to pick up the wires was from a small loop like connector in the tail section under the rear seat. He got the light working fine and put it away.
2 weeks later he went to start the bike and it would crank over but wouldn't fire up. (Sounding familiar).
He had several so called experts come and look at it but after hours of testing it still wouldn't go and it had to be trailered to a dealer.
Just after the bike was offloaded and being wheeled into the shop a passerby asked what the issue was.
We told him and a wry smile came across his face.
He asked if the small loop wire thing had been touched to which the answer was yes.
We then disconnected the tail light, plugged the little loop in again and the bike started straight up.
Who would guess that a plug in the extreme rear of the bike would be of any consequence?

Anyway, just thought you may like to check on this.
I can only imagine how long the dealer would of taken to find the problem, and what they would of charged.

Disaster averted.
great idea Shordy... yes there is a unused socket under the rear hump... you normally attach a switch to help with FI diagnostics I think.... or maybe computer interface too?? either way if you start pissing around with those wires you are interfering directly with the CPU signals

found the talked about culprit LOL

#29 - Mode select switch coupler

The tail-light I put in plugs into the factory connector....I just replaced what was already there.
I'll check those plugs anyway (didn't touch them though)
Just traced all my steps and can find no problems.......bridged the dealer plug, no faults found........this has got me buggered (and blood pressure is rising)........bike winds over like it wants to fire but nothing, just keeps winding.
Could it be a blocked filter in the tank? I haven't cleaned/ replaced it yet........
Thanks for the info 99er......I should only have to test no 1 cylinder to see if it's ignition related shouldn't I?

yes.any cylinder will do.u only have to check 1 cylinder to see if your got spark
It could be a faulty kick stand switch?
Just throwing it out there....
bike won't kick with start ya bastard (although it sounded like it wanted to), so off with the airbox after work tomorrow and check plugs
