80k is about what Engineers with a few of years experience get paid, the people actually on the line do not get paid anything like that amount.

I've done this brake conversion on my 06. Its gives the best bang fot the buck improvement of anything I've done (braided lines, EBC HH pads, wave disks). Highly recommend it for gen 1 bikes.

I think in Vic the rule has always been 1m minimum distance. And pushies are supposed to ride within 1m of the gutter/edge of the road.
