Sports Bike has been opened up - Outlaw is the same with some re-wording to clarify some areas of confusion.

Sports Bike

Class Designations: SB preceded by bike number.

Sports Bike is a class for riders of 1999 and newer Japanese and European Sports Bikes. American bikes are restricted to V-Rods & Buells. Racing is run on a dial your own (DYO) system. Treaded DOT motorcycle tyres only are to be used.

CLASS REGULATIONS

Engine

Engine: Engine must be OEM to the make of bike. Unlimited engine modifications permitted. Engine swaps permitted. Refer General Regulations 4.1.2.1 & 4.1.2.2

Exhaust: Aftermarket exhaust permitted. Refer General Regulations 4.1.4.

Liquid Overflow: Refer General Regulations 4.1.9.

Ignition: Aftermarket ignition systems permitted.

Electronics:
- Data loggers permitted.
- Aftermarket ECUâ€s & controllers permitted.
- Power shifters, shift kill and engine kill devices permitted.
- Power Commanders and TREâ€s permitted
- Aftermarket traction control and anti wheel stand devices prohibited.

Each of the following must be a physical function of the rider and be controlled manually. Each must occur immediately after the riderâ€s input without delay devices of any type.
(i) When a gear shift is made
(ii) When the bike leaves the start line.
(iii) When the throttle is opened or closed. (OEM Fly by Wire exempt)
(iv) When the brakes are operated. (ABS systems permitted)

Nitrous Oxide: Permitted. Refer General Regulations 4.1.12.

Turbocharger, Supercharger: Permitted. Refer General Regulations 4.1.13.

Fuel/Fuel Systems: Fuel cells permitted. All classes restricted to alcohol, pump or racing petrol only. Refer ANDRA Homologated Fuels list and General Regulations 4.1.6, 4.1.7 and 4.1.8.

Driveline

Chain Guard: Required.

Clutch: Aftermarket clutches including lock up or sliders permitted.

Transmission: Transmission must be OEM to the make of bike. Unlimited transmission modifications permitted. Auto transmissions prohibited. Refer Electronics section above for gear shifting requirements.

Brakes and Suspension

Brakes: Operative hydraulic front and rear brakes required as a minimum.

Suspension: Aftermarket front and rear suspension permitted. Minimum of 1 inch (25mm) travel required in front suspension. Extended Swing Arm permitted. Steering dampers highly recommended.

Wheelie Bars: Not permitted.

Body and Chassis

Appearance: Bodywork must resemble 1999 or newer model from the same manufacturer of the Engine used. Fully faired models must use a 3/4 fairing as a minimum. Naked bike models must at least have a facsimile of a headlight or nose fairing.. Bodywork may be stretched and/or exaggerated to reflect the modifications to the chassis. Seat upholstery not required.

Frame: OEM frame must be retained. Frame modifications permitted but must be engineered appropriately. Purpose built frames not permitted. Bolt on Swing arm required. May be extended or replaced by aftermarket item. Fully welded rear sections prohibited. Bolt on Struts may be used to lock up the rear of the chassis.

Wheelbase: Maximum wheelbase of 75 inches or (1905mm) measured from centre of the rear axle to centre of the front axle.

Ground clearance: Minimum ground clearance 2” with rider seated, legs forward with heals on the ground.

Wheels and Tyres

Wheels: Aftermarket wheels permitted. Minimum diameter for front and rear rim is 16 inches (406mm).

Tyres: All tyres must be treaded, DOT approved and must be commercially available in Australia. Slick tyres prohibited. All tyres must carry a sufficient speed rating for the performance of the bike.

Rider and Safety

Helmet: Required. Refer General Regulations 4.10.8.

Protective Clothing: All permanent ANDRA Licence holders, or any rider quicker than 10.50 (1/4 mile)/6.70 seconds (1/8 mile) at any event must wear helmet, visor or goggles, full leather gloves, full leathers and full leather boots extending at least 275mm (10.82 inch) from the base of the heel. Any rider not wearing full leathers will be ineligible for ANDRA Personal Accident benefits Riders who are not required to be the holder of a permanent ANDRA licence may compete in long trousers, a securely fastened leather Jacket and full leather gloves in lieu of full leathers. “FULL LEATHERS ONE OR TWO-PIECE ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”.

Licence Requirements: Refer Credentials Section. 4.10.3

ANDRA Tech Inspection: Refer General Regulations 4.9.10.

General

Sponsor Decals: All racers must display the Toyo Tires Sport Compact Group Drag Racing Series decal and class sponsor decals on both sides of the race vehicle at all times during the event. Decals must be in a prominent location, clearly visible as required by Sport Compact Group Pty Ltd. Failure to do so will forfeit any prize purse posted, Series Points and may lead to disqualification. No other Sport Compact Competition Series decals permitted.

Self Starting: Required. Push starts not permitted. No remote starters permitted.

Tow Bikes/Vehicles: Prohibited.

Record Setting

There are 5 Records available within the Sports Bike Class as listed below. To be eligible to set a Sports Bike Class Record below, bikes must meet the record requirements. Only Qualifying, Eliminations and Final round runs can be counted towards ET/MPH records. To set a record, it must be backed up by a second run within 1%. It is the riderâ€s responsibility to present the bike to the scrutineering shed immediately after a run if they feel a record has been set. Failure to do so will forfeit the record. Officials will verify the record after a run if the racer feels they have set a record for that class. The record is only awarded to that rider holding the record at the end of the event.

Minimum Weights are only for Class Record setting:
Ballast NOT permitted.

Minimum Weight including rider:

• 485 pounds/ 220 kgs

Records

Sports Bike 1. All Motor Bike up to 1000cc with Stock OEM Swing Arm.

Sports Bike 2. All Motor Bike up to 1000cc with Extended Swing Arm.

Sports Bike 3. All Motor Bike 1001cc and over with Stock OEM Swing Arm.

Sports Bike 4. All Motor Bike 1001cc and over with Extended Swing Arm.

Sports Bike 5. All Motor Bike Twin, any capacity, 2 Cylinder engine with Any Swing Arm.

Definitions for the purpose of class records:

Stock OEM Swing Arm: Stock EM Swing Arm must be a match to the OEM frame used and may not be modified in any way that increases the bikes wheelbase.






OUTLAW Sports Bike

Class Designations: OSB preceded by bike number.

Outlaw Sports Bike is open to riders of 1999 and newer Japanese and European Sports Bikes running 9.99sec ¼ mile and quicker. Pre 1999 model bikes and American bikes, meeting the class and performance criteria for the class, will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of SCG. Racing is limited to a 16 bike field with heads up pro tree start using a Chicago Shootout format. Slick and treaded tyres permitted. Maximum of 2 power adders allowed. Riders in this class require UDL licence to compete as a minimum. All bikes require a current ANDRA Tech Inspection and meet ANDRA safety requirements for bikes running 9.99sec and quicker as a minimum and meet the ANDRA safety requirements for the performance of the bike.

Chain Guard: Required. Exposed chains must be covered on their top run between the centre lines of the sprockets. Minimum material specifications for chain guards: 25mm (1 inch) by 3mm (1/8 inch) steel or alloy.

Clutch: Aftermarket clutch permitted. 2 stage, multistage or slider clutches permitted.

Transmission: Unlimited transmission modification permitted. Aftermarket transmissions permitted. Air shifters and power shifters permitted. Auto shifting prohibited. Refer Electronics section above for gear shifting requirements.

Brakes and Suspension

Brakes: Operative hydraulic front and rear brakes required as a minimum.

Suspension: Aftermarket front and rear suspension permitted. Minimum of 1 inch (25.mm) travel required in front suspension. Lowering permitted provided that lowering links, struts and straps are those specifically manufactured for drag racing. Steering dampers highly recommended. Bolt on Swing arm required. Swing Arm may be extended or replaced by aftermarket item. Fully welded rear sections prohibited. Bolt on Struts may be used to lock up the rear of the chassis. No rear suspension movement required.

Wheelie Bars: Prohibited.

Body and Chassis

Appearance: Bodywork must resemble 1999 or newer model from the same manufacturer of the Engine used. Fully faired models must use a 3/4 fairing as a minimum. Naked bike models must at least have a facsimile of a headlight or nose fairing. Pre 1999 bodywork requires pre race meeting approval on a case by case basis. In all cases bodywork may be stretched and/or exaggerated to reflect the modifications to the chassis. Seat upholstery not required. Night lighting required, refer General Regulation 4.7.7

Ballast: Permitted to a maximum of 12kg (26.4lbs). Ballast may not be mounted to any part of the front suspension or associated equipment. (Includes forks, clamps, axle, brakes, wheel and Tyre) Refer General Regulation 4.4.2

Frame: OEM frame must be retained. Frame modifications permitted but must be engineered appropriately. Purpose built frames not permitted.

Wheelbase: Maximum wheelbase of 75 inches or (1905mm) measured from centre of the rear axle to centre of the front axle.

Ground clearance: Minimum ground clearance 2” with rider seated, legs forward with heals on the ground.

Wheels and Tyres

Wheels: Minimum rim diameter front and rear 16 inches (406mm). Aftermarket rims permitted with a maximum width of 7 inch (177.8mm).

Tyres: Slicks or DOT treaded motorcycle tyres permitted providing they carry a sufficient speed rating for the performance of the bike. Rear “Flat” slicks may not exceed 7 inches (177.8mm)

Rider and Safety

ANDRA Tech Inspection: Required. Refer General Regulations 4.9.10.

Helmet: Required. Refer General Regulations 4.10.8.

Protective Clothing: Riders must wear full-face helmet, visor, full leather gloves, full leather gloves, full leathers as a minimum and full leather boots extending at least 275mm (10.82 inch) from base of heel. Refer General Regulation 4.10.10.

Licence Requirements: Riders competing in this class compete under a UDL licence as a minimum. Refer Credentials Section. 4.10.3

General

Tow Vehicles: Permitted. Refer General Regulations 4.9.9.1 & 4.9.9.2
