I have never had an issue with the clutch on my bike. It seems perfect and light. The slipper clutch is a dream and I would never consider changing it.
The only time I ever had a problem was when I changed from mineral oil to full synthetic.
It slipped a couple of times when taking off cold but after a couple of days the plates seemed to have adjusted to the friction level.
I know that this thread mainly concerns the dragging fraternity, but for general road use the standard clutch is ideal for me.

I never had a problem with the stock (04) clutch until I started the drags, even then I only welded her up cause it seemed the thing to do.

I agree, stock for the road and limp wristed! My clutch bit like fiscal policy on a drag launch until I had it welded. Apparently, an early model stockie may also develop a judder, hence the anti judder spring and seat in later models. I also like the fact that a welded unit does not allow the plates to slip and wear/heatup on deceleration.

What i found was with the stock clutch you couldn,t practice start on the street. It would get hot just riding around so any launch would be a lottery from good to lethal. At the drags with no burnout it was okay, except the first stage was too long and the second stage was too short. So the only practice i get was on a wed night with an audience. Now i can practice my starts so hopefully will be able to refine my motor skills for when it counts. It does judder alittle when cold though. So for me it was a big step forward and i haven,t been able to back it into corners yet without the slipper, although it does feel like it has more engine braking effect on the back tyre.

Hey fellas. This is my first post on the new board on the old board I went by the name Geribusa. Some of the members know me from SH.ORG and 200mph.org

I've just fitted a MTC 2-stage lockup to my stock clutch setup. They aren't supposed to be fittable but I did some small mods to mine and it works just great. I used 6 stock 'busa small valve springs for base pressure and the lever action is very light. By increasing wieght on the lockup arms it now holds 400hp comfortably.

All I did to mod the clutch is drill the bolt-holes out 1mm each and machine the posts shorter, and it fits like a charm.
