exhaust leak - new slip on's.
#1
lastnight i put some aftermaket slip on pipes on , the right hand side mated easily but the left hand side holes didnt line up so i drilled the flange out a couple of mm to fit the little bolts , however on tightening the bolts there is a hairline gap between the pipe and flange , i filed it , hammered it , over tighned it to buggery but it will not go flush and pull tight .

When you put your hand near it she leaks air.

how do i fix it without replacing the flange pipe part of the exhaust?

btw i used the old gaskets from the old pipes , do new gaskets crush as you tighen to form a perfect seal .

Yes, new gaskets crush a little.
Probably the answer I think.

thanks for replies. The exhaust gaskets costs $8.90 each + not in stock. I ended up applying sealant to the old gaskets and face of the flange.

For some reason the right hand side can sags hanging of the footpeg brackets , new bushes needed i think.

It's reminding me of why you should not buy old bikes , lol.
