never heard of that one mate, not saying its not true but this is my 3rd and none of my mates ever have.
I think you may be thinking of the stand mod which is notching the stand so the angle of stand is increased to prevent bike from rolling forward off the stand?

My third, never did it - never though it was needed. Just use the leg correctly and lock the stand. Use your common sence to see if the bike is at a angle then change the direction of parking etc....
But I may be wrong, hence there is no harm in doing what the rest are doing (stand mod) it also shaves off weight and makes the bike lighter..by few grams. LOL

Had mine 2yrs and havnt done the mod yet. Was going to but keep putting it off, just careful where I park and always leave in first gear while try to park rear tyre downhill.

I did it soon as I found that thread on the ORG.
Don't care how many people claim common sense, human error is a gaurantee so why take the risk? Do it. Only real drawbacks are that it's a bigger struggle to lift it off the side, and when refuelling you might get a little less in the tank - don't quote me. Just do it.

ive had three busas so far and all were lowered at one point or another and never had an issue with the stock stands. however some people have had issues so perhaps its best to do it anyway, cheap insurance really.

Greeny your spot on, did mine as soon as I got it.When my mate recently bought his gen 2 I told him to do the stand mod, he said nah wont worry ,parked the bike in the shed ,walked away from it and didnt even get to the door and down she went.I think it cost about 4.5k for repairs. After fixing it he did the stand mod.
