Poor Pedrosa Frown !

Can I please ask why the riders stick their leg out before going into a corner?

I've done it a few times at the track to try it myself... three theories:

1) helps you lock in the other leg against the tank (so you're not resting the inside leg on the foot-peg into the corner)
2) extra wind resistance when you're slowing down
3) because the other riders do it, so it must be good!

What a totally chaotic race!

Must be because they stick their legs out and their feet almost on the ground going into some corners!!! (:-))
Good weather, good woman, good road, good bike, good-bye!!

The truth is that it the weight of the leg sticking to the side increases the lateral inertia that helps to control the bike wobbles (same principle as the long pole during a tightrope walk) as they go into the corner being still under heavy breaking. Because the load on the rear is very light it tends to move side to side.
