thanx rob,

fdt - flash development toolkit,
on the gen 1 i had to load the above before ecu editor,
and to enter the com ports.
so i might not need to use this then?

ive got the gen 2 maps, but theres us and eu maps to choose
from, the gen 1 i had to use the us map so an fi error code didnt
show up.
was curious, whats the difference between mso and ms1 maps
i know how to go about changing them,
but is there any advantage for 1 or the other?

MS0 and MS1 - both identical. Cut the b/w wire from pin 58 on the ecu and attach each loose end to the tabs on a simple on/off toggle switch.

The changes come when you change your ignition and fuel maps for either MS0 or MS1. Be brave! Play with MS1 and advance your ignition a few degrees at around 2000-6000 rpm and fatten the fuel curve in the same range. Flash to your ECU and take it for a ride. Switch the toggle over and feel the difference!

Certainly easier than changing out jets and mucking around with springs on a mechanical ignition advance.
