'05 late clutch engagement

Hey fellas,

My '05 seems to be engaging really late.

The lever has the right amount of free play, but when I put only the slightest load on the lever after the play has taken up it starts to slip.

It wont slip under power.

New clutch or something else I can do?

I would say your looking at worn clutch plates... not long before it starts slipping under power (but my clutch experiences is based on a car not bike)

Check for build up of chain lube and crap on the pushrod behind the clutch slave cylinder near the front sprocket.
