Da Mutz!

So most nights he whines when I'm online.
I let him up and he sits on my lap and this is the usual position he ends up in asleep!
Is he trying to tell me something??

Cheers,
Pete

Mrs Tony Here
Just figured out how to post a piccy so I thought I would share our babies. Button (boxer-staffy X) and Buster (cattle dog). Both dogs were freebies and are really great. Button we got when I saw an ad for puppies to give away placed on an ezy_board that is run at work. Had to drive to Toowoomba to get her but she was worth the trip. My son found Buster running around looking a bit distressed Good Friday 2003. All Easter it was "if no one claims him can we keep him". We are still waiting for someone to come along to claim him.

Try again Mrs Tony.

This happened a week ago so I thought it was time to fess up.

I nearly killed our new pup.
f***, all I did was take hime for a walk on the lead.
He had been on the lead a few times with the kids.
I kept a bit of pressure for him to follow when he was sniffing things as you do.
I noticed a cough and had a look he looked fine thought he just sniffed something.
Then a few seconds late he did it again.
Finally he just dropped to the ground and collapsed!
All this in tops 60 seconds.
He was unconsious and I was just in shock.
Picked him up he came to and went into shock yelping.
Then he started frothing and dribbling at the mouth!!!
By the time I got back home my wife checked his mouth and there was a little blood there.
That was it we called a 24hr vet and took him straight in.

His breathing was so bad I though he wqas a goner.
I asked if this was common and they said no but occasionally they hear about it. How did I feel!

Anyway he had to stary overnight 3 hrs on oxygen and was fine next day.
$280 bucks later!

Poor bastard.....

HAs anyone heard of this.
I've had around 10 dogs in my life and never had this happen...?
Cheers,
Pete

Dog must be weak as piss. Just need to toughen him up a bit DJ, it sounds like you are on the right track. We had a chuihahia? - ( I don't friggin know how to spell it) when I was a kid, and when he barked too much I used to yank the lead on that fucker and never held back. Often hard enough to rip his little bastard legs off the ground and land him upside down on his ass. - never had a problem. Mangy mutt lived till it was 16 years old.

My advice.... keep up the pressure and the little mongrel will come good one day. What doesn't kill them only makes them stronger.

PS - don't be afraid to shoot it and get a new one. The pound is full of stray barkers - cheap as chips. Edited by: m8ee  at: 9/6/06 12:17 pm
