My letter got posted in the 'Access' letters to the editor regarding my 'missing' 1928 Excelsior, which was great of them to do!
And I won the prize for 'Letter of the Issue' as well with some Motul stuff.
Still no leads on the bike, but there's always hope?

In a nutshell, a good mate, Roger Brain, got sick and tired of the slow progress I was making on the rebuild. So one day when he dropped in, he took the frame and engine, springer front end etc to do some work on it while I was away at sea.
I never heard from him for a long while, not unusual with Rog, but later found out that he'd smashed his bike and died (on the Great Ocean Road?). Also, maybe, if so then very sadly, the dreaded 'Black Dog' may have been involved?
He was living with his married sister then, and I had no idea of her name or address - pretty much a dead end in every respect.
Maybe there's most of a 1928 Excelsior sitting in a garage somewhere and no one knows what it is?

Anyway, the good thing is that it revived a lot of good memories from a range of people about Roger - a good mate, and a true fellow rider!
