Instrument Panel lockup

Heres a new one to me at least.
I was blissfully riding home today and hit a mild bump on the exit to a roundabout and the whole instrument panel locked up in position.
That is Fuel and Temp gauges, Tacho and Speedo.
Rode home the whole way with it locked on 45kph and the odometer didn't budge or the tacho and fuel gauge.
I did the usual power cycle on the ignition with no joy and was about to go through all the fuses when I decided to disconnect the neg terminal on the battery and BINGO it all came back to life. I retightened the terminal and all is back to normal.
Strange bird this BUSA.

Thanks for the post all the same. If anyone out there has the same problem we'll know the quick fix.
Won't happen in Vic for a while. The hibernation has commenced, but wait for the thaw around October and it will be Winter wobblersville out there!

i had the same drama's a while back... Exact same issues.

Pull all your electrical connectors, blow them out and hot them with m,oiseture displacent...
Mine went awat after that
