Probably not worth the bother DJ if it is just a link, might not get used.
If it was live somewhere on the Home page something like whats on motoaus it might get used.

I realise this is an old thread, but another forum i'm (non bike related ) on we use a shoutbox and it works a treat, has this been discussed recently.

Hey Pete, I know shoutbox isn't working but is there any other chat room type systems we can use linked to logged in accounts only?
Think I brought this up years ago when I was into gaming and chat rooms were a big addition to online game. I see it as a way for members to be able to "talk" more easily with each other without needing to refresh or jump around threads.

And a lot of chat room systems include both audio and video chat too.... Not only instant type replies but actual talking and seeing

When I say it didn't work I mean nobody used it.
It was a dead duck. And that wasn't so long ago either.
As far as video and audio go if that was used and was popular you would go over your bandwidth quota so wouldn't suggest that. There are also potential security issues with these types of chatboxes and considering we have recently had some server security issues I'm not in a hurry to try it again.
BUT if enough people show interest here then I'm willing to give it another go.
But it would need to be more than 2 people.
