Search for switch, any help!!

With such a learned group of individuals, I thought I might try my luck with you guys.

I fitted a set of heated grips to the bus yesterday. Very happy with the result, hands are now toasty warm. However, I'm not happy with the control switch that came with them. It condsists of a huge arse toggle switch, that has off in the middle and high and low either side.

I have fitted the control switch temporarily, until I can source a better one.

The question is, does anyone know where I can get a 3 position switch, either rocker, or a single button. What I am hoping for is a small housing that I can mount on the top of the tripple clamp. Preferably with a single button, first press is the low setting and a LED, second press is high and either another LED or a different colour through the same LED, third press is off.

Failing that, a small rocker switch.

I have the number of a technician who works on movies here on the coast, however, he is flat out for at least 4-6 weeks.

Can anyone make any sugestions? The standard switch sucks arse.
Cheers,
Terry

Already tried Dick's, no good at all. Went to an electronics specialist supplier on the coast as well, no help there either, with the exception of the contact number for the guy that works on the movies.

Thanks anyway Volvi

Ok start by telling us where you want to mount the switch,do you want light

if you plan on drilling it in to your top plastics a rear demister out of a car could be the trick will have backlight and light up when is on (just watch you dont buy a auto off switch)

As Pecky says, Jaycar should have something in a tidy little rocker? They're in Mermaid on the Hwy just down from the new Hooters.

Abusa,

I was just thinking about the fitting of the bracket. Have you physicaly seen one of these?

The switch housing appears to be bulky, how does it go for clearance between the back of the switch block and the clutch resevoir?

Terry

Just released what are you talking about Shayne you sold me one of those a year ago.

No clearance issues with the clutch master cylinder however you need to use 90 degree pin connectors.

Use the hazard light switch or headlight on/off switch on earlier models. You don,t eve have to take your hands off the bars.
