Certainly one of our faster riders, and all while on his back wheel.
On the original Jindabyne "Loop", it was pissing down with rain, we had just had a smoke (and nerves) break (at Tumut Ponds 1?) and were heading up a hill towards a hairpin, I was hitting 200 odd, well behind the leaders and trying hard, Ron rides past me on his R1 on the back wheel, I reckon you could see the grin through his helmet.
What a loss.

RIP Ron.

Yeh thats ron. I remember takin my bike an telling him somethings
wrong,i think i f****d the chain,he goes wtf did you do to this thing
its rooted!
Jacks it an retightens it or whatever he does.
Take it out of the shop,
Comes out onto the road clutches the c*** out of this thing,my bike
mind you lol, leaves a massive single rubber line down the road, comes back down the road on 1 wheel, doesnt stop in time for the shop has
to turn around to come in.
Takes his helmet off an says " its been a while since i rode a busa with standard brakes, there f*&^ing shithouse chris, you gotta change them" I just laughed Lol3

He could talk about busas for hours, literally.
It wont be the same without ron heyUndecided

been a long time since I rode with Ron and I was never a good rider but I hope I was a good friend - Ron certainly was. I have you on super 8s from 1970 odd Ron and they are just the tip of my iceberg memories that stretch for many years. You always had respect for people and took no BS.
You went out in the only way you would choose.

Back from the funeral which had a great turnout. The Tribute ride had about 140 bikes and Hangmore did a great job of Marshalling the ride.

Thanks to Richard (Wild Wind) for his eulogy/speech on behalf of all the bike clubs and riders. All in all it was a very moving ceremony and great tribute to Ballsy.

He will be missed by many and not easily forgotten for the Larger then Life the man that he was.

RIP in Ron.

Jeez, so many memories/stories.
How about this?.....remember his nail polish phase? IIRC it was pink?
Only Ron could pull it off.....

Ron always had the perfect knack of putting people back into their place. People who bragged about how good a rider they were would expierence Ron cruise past them on the back wheel doing 240k's and indicate with his blinkers he was changing lanes!!!!
Woman,where's my wallet?
And whats for tea?
