I sold my Busa to my brother about a year ago and this is his idea for a storage hatch in the hump on the Bus.
The hatch you can get from any good boat retailer and it only cost $10.00.

Thats a sweet idea! Pi_thumbsup
+1 . How did he cut the hole to fit the hatch ? BIG hole saw ?
He marked the hole out first and then cut it out with a jigsaw.
What a great idea, don't know why Suzuki didn't do it in the first place, I originally thought it was storage, it's such a hassle to get things out of the pokey little corners of the bottom section.
what kind of things will fit in there ? small drinks ? maybe even a jumper ?give us an idea so we can work out if we need to do it or not ...
There have been various storage hump mods for the Gen 1 over the years.
You can fit stacks of stuff in.
I had a carry bag with room for camera, phone, jacket liner, toiletries bag, maps and even tyre repair kit with still space for more when I had the old bike.
That mod kit had a hinged base with half turn locking screws. The whole base of the seat was replaced for that option.
This hatch & cap idea looks like a great cheaper option.

The Gen II base has a hole provided by the factory but no sealing device, so this mod could suit both Gen 1 & II bikes.
