It was interesting to see that the Lord Mayor of Newcastle and the Chief of Police for the Hunter District have both done their bike learners course this week and plan on using bikes to commute and as recreation vehicles.
The Lord Mayor has been a long time supporter of the toy runs etc in Newcastle and has also placed a motion before the council to allow footpath parking in designated areas.

Clover Moore, the Sydney City Mayor, has also been trying to encourage more bikes onto the roads.

I hope that these dignitaries continue their push for more bikes by reducing the rediculous taxes and insurances applied to bikes in NSW.
