custom designed BS - you'd think we dragged it from another house:
5 cabinets along back 50mm too long to fit between walls, 2 will need to be cut&shut with another 8-10 week wait for drawers to match (all of 25mm off ea cabinet), 10mm gap next to pantry, over-size gap needed in dishwasher cavity to bring it out to cover exposed slab
F$%^ what a little pee wee-up. Nice to see my dosh buying such a mess.
Live and learn - at least I'll hopefully get it right in 25yrs when I next need a new kitchen.

Sorry to hear, DIY is the go! I'm lined up for a kitchen reno but have worked out that if I drag out fitting the towl rack and power point in the bathroom makeover, then that counts as an unfinished project and a new one can't start till the other is signed off as finished.
Kitchen DIY makeovers can be dragged out to work in your favour, the main casualty being mom, the displaced person LOL. Gas cooker on the yard or BBQ works fine and laundry tub for dishwashing too, then there is always maccas or pizza for tea.
Laws auctions in Sydney is cheap if you want to buy bits or complete kitchen sets, you would still have to cut marble tops and cabinets to fit your space but thats the nature of the game.
well what difference a day makes and seeing the granite installed with a 75% finished proj. I've cooled down. We did have it professionally installed, and he did a marvelous job converting our pair of 900mm 3-drawer cabinets to a pair of 875mm carcasses. Main inconvenience 8-10 week wait for custom made drawers off the ship from China.
Max - no need for posse - we made it pretty clear to the supplier their (ex) designer screwed up the plan after we measured it ourselves and they agreed exchange for the new once custom sized for these new bastard sized cabinets - of course you'd never notice, in fact many prob order custom sized.
Woman blames me 'cos I hounded her to get a good price...and she did, we actually got from an auction house, but not really auction, they just design supply + 12% buyers premium. You just got spend time waiting around at the warehouse cos they hardly got any staff throughout the whole process.
Sweet Mary wants to "do the kitchen" this year.
May have to have you over Markus, just to forewarn her of the things that can go wrong. That should buy me another year to get the black and grey finished!
