BLACKZOOK

The mighty busa killing RS250 had a minor mechanical rest 3 weeks ago at an Oran Park trackday.
She needed a new block head and piston kit. I tracked down a good second hand block and head in Sydney for $600.00 via ebay without any problem.

Did a search and found a reputable vendor in England with piston kits for the RS. Reasonable price and delivery with nearly 1600 sales and a 99.1% positive feed back. Paid my money and discussed delivery with the vendor via email all good.

4 days alter I emailed him asking for a tracking number and confirmation of delivery - no response. Daily emails over the last 14 days have not gotten any response from the vendor at all. My email wording has gone from polite requests for details to more and more harshly worded - no response.

Where do I go from here.

How do I approach ebay and paypal to retreive my cash.

Hi Bruce,

Sorry to hear that it has not worked out so well. I have not brought much through Ebay lately but I have brought a lot in the past for another hobby of mine.

As you've said above, you've contacted the seller with no avail. One of the first steps is to advise the seller that you will be posting negative feedback. Whilst it does not sound like much, negative feedback serves two purposes, namely alerting Ebay that there is a problem, as well as prospective buyers.

The next step is to contact Ebay themselves. This can be done online. Tell them who the seller is, including as much detail as you can ie country, login name, personal name if you have been given one and it's true, e mail address if you have it etc. Tell Ebay what has happened, they will start looking into him as a seller.

Lastly you need to contact Paypal. Transactions through Paypal have protection, on their website they have the following;

PayPal Buyer Protection
PayPal Buyer Protection helps you if you don't receive your item or the item is significantly different from its description in the seller's listing. Eligible transactions are covered up to the full purchase price and original postage charges. Certain categories are excluded, including vehicles in the Motors category, capital equipment in the Business & Industrial category, items in the Adult Only category, Real Estate, and Live Auctions.

An item is covered by PayPal Buyer Protection if it meets the following eligibility requirements:

You purchase your item on eBay.

You use PayPal to pay for the item.

You use the seller's email address associated with the listing. To ensure this, use the Pay Now button when the eBay listing ends.

The seller's eBay listing is for a physical item. Services and intangible items aren't covered.

You file only one claim per PayPal payment.

You open the case within 45 days of the PayPal payment and escalate it to a claim if needed within 20 days of opening the case.

You meet the PayPal Buyer Protection requirements outlined in the PayPal Buyer Protection Policy.

Hope this helps Bruce. Either that or it's an airline ticket to the UK, 50 pounds for a baseball bat, and a quick cab ride back to Heathrow.
I always pay via PayPal and if you have done it then your money is safe, just open a case by login into PayPal and if the seller wont reply back to you in 3 /4 days then update the case for PayPal to come into action.

Provide all details to PayPal, any communication within eBay or outside of eBay and they will then take up the case and ask the seller to respond - if seller fails to respond then they will return the money back to you - even if the seller has disappeared from eBay.

Please note: Always pay via PayPal unless you know the person or you are picking the item by paying cash.

I trust eBay and I trust PayPal more.

I.e. I had bought a iPhone from eBay and the seller wanted me to do a bank transfer I refused and only paid via PayPal by login through eBay transactions - as suspected the seller turned out to be a player - he sent a broken iPhone which was in destroyed status - I send seller many update, requested call back but no response.
I logged a case with PayPal and the seller didn’t reply - got my full money back and this is only one of my experience - many times PayPal has refunded me the money when the item is not as described or seller is acting up.
Feel free to call me 0422290337 if you need any more info.

Cheers,

Bill
Damn hope it works out mate, did you pay by Paypal???

Hi Bruce

Thanks for the "Thank"

The money can be recovered thru Paypal - the rest is just to screw up his intentions to rip other people off. Either that or some RS250 bits will turn up post haste.

Dont think sellers can leave buyers neg anymore. My misses has an online shop and it's one of her gripes about it.
I have had this happen before - ( have not read the replies as yet ) Just go into Paypal ( presuming thats how you paid ) go to Paypal and log in

then go to https://www.paypal.com/au/cgi-bin/webscr...laint-view the resolution centre

then click on dispute a transaction - then follow the prompts - it will stop / reverse payment to that guys account - it will then give him 7 days or 14 to reply - if he does not the money will be put back to your account

If he does reply - you then begin deliberation - once you have recieved your goods you then say that transaction has neen completed , and then the money will go back into his account ....

Sounds like shit Bruce, find out where they live and we'll take out a posse to track them down. We'll take sticks and stones, and leave the name calling to someone else!Knuppel2

lol if only aye!
Hope it all works out for you mate, one thing i can't stand is a thief!
Is it possible you could post a link to the buyer and if you don't get satisfactory results maybe we can ALL message him so he knows exactly how many people he's dealing with here, maybe even bullshit him by telling him we have a UK branch and we can track him through his IP and would he prefer to send the item or have 50 or so bikes rock up to his house!
Just a thought, who knows it may work?
Either way still complain to ebay and submit a dispute with paypal!
Good luck mate.
request his contact details , enter item number and his user name and ebay will provide you with a telephone contact, a phone call may resolve it. If that does'nt turn up anything contact some of his buyers and see if they have a contact number. Even if he comes good ,make mention of his poor communication skills via feedback.
I've been stung too. Bought an item for the Austin 1800, and the guy just kept stringing me along with emails, and then you find out the 45 days have gone and nobody wants to know about it! Then silence at the other end. Bastards!
