Ok anyone in the know does a gen2 swing arm fit on a gen1? I've got a swing arm, wheel, caliper, resevior off a gen2 coming is it gonna fit my gen1 frame?

Cheers
With the wheel, sprocket, hub & disc, maybe but why.
let us know how you get on
It's for my project. I got the whole lot at a very reasonable price. I was under the impression that the swing arm it's self was pretty much the same just modified for the new braking setup
Dan, I've seen it done the other way Gen1 on a Gen2, so I'd say it should fit.

Got a gen1 wheel to fit on a gen2 arm coming up soon and that doesn't look too hard to do!

Leonard.
the gen 2 also has the rear brake bracket groove on the inside of the arm but with the gear you have you should be fine.

as simmo said but why?

if i want home for the gen2 wheel i might be keen at the right price.

cheers
Ian
thats Legend, Revit!! i got the whole front end and rear end lined up at the right price hopefully coming in the next few weeks ie forks, tripples, f+r wheel, f+r calipers, swingarm, master cylinders off of a K8-9. its going on my project bike which at the moment is a frame/subframe and box of little bits and pieces. if i can get the k8 swingarm to fit means i got pretty much a full roller minus fairings. the price im getting this stuff(if it all goes according to plan) is the same as what id pay or even less than what id pay for gen1 gear so really it came down to price and availability rather than gen1/2 being better or worse than each other. thanks for the help guys.

gen2 rear wheel, disc and sprocket assemby is heavier than a gen1 setup despite the advertising hype.I weighed them both.Very Happy
Not worried about the weight. Aslong as it fits
Gen 2 is supposed to have additional internal ribbing to further resist flex.

I haven't cut one up to check......
