What a day, got half an hour spare, so with new tyres, ready for Tathra, I decide it’s time to scrub them in. Time for a blast around the block. Out of Tallangatta, Up Bryants Gap, left onto Locharts Gaps, left at Tallandoon, quick fang down the Omeo Hwy, left onto Murray Valley Highway and back to Tallangatta. About 70km – 30minutes, lots of tight twisties – no traffic.

Set off, 5km out the road, tight left hander, a big brown sits up and hisses at me on the apex. – Scares the shit out of me and wobble 1.

Another 5 mins, another tight corner, I know this one, it slowly opens, knee down, winding on, trying to feather the edge of the tyre. . . farmer picks this time to pull out on the road. . . Hat on, ute doing all of 15kmph, wobble No.2 (I wave – everyone knows every one in these parts. Nanganang nang nang nang nang nang nang goes through your head at this point.)

Anyway, he’s gone and I’m back on it . . .next corner and a bloody Poll Hereford standing in the middle of the road just looking at me. – it kind of freaks you when you’re not ready!!.

Quietly go round and decide it’s a quiet ride for the final run home. . . Yep another bloody big brown!! Stands up and has a strike around the next bloody corner!!!.

Just glad it wasn’t dusk . . . that’s when the wombats come out!

Summer, don’t you just love it!

Still 5mm of chicken strips to lose – but don’t ya just lurve a new set of rubber!!

That Murray Valley Highway has a nice set of curves on it for sure - did it a couple of years ago on my holidays, you're a lucky man to have it in your backyard Ward Coolsmiley

Cheers John
Reckon I'll attack Granya mountain in the morning, going into Albury for a new set of Front brake pads . . . although, not really sure why, they only slow you down.Idiot2 But will give me a reason to scrub the rest of the shiny bits off the edges of the new tyres.Biker
