Wikipedia Wrote:CX500 Turbo
In 1982, this version of the bike received a turbocharger and a very complex fuel injection system with multiple redundant fail-safe systems. The following year, all CX500s and GL500s were enlarged to 650 (actually 673 cc), and the turbo version got a much simplified fuel injection system.
Factory turbos fell out of favor with the motorcycling public for various reasons, causing Honda to cease production of the CX650 Turbo after the 1983 model year.
Any ideas what those reasons are?

Because it was wrong. Like beastiality. Against the laws of nature. Honda took the worst possible engine configuration and turbo charged it to prove a point. That it could be done. Had to be fuel injected to make it work. Look at the lag between the power strokes There's a huge gap in there. Very difficult to keep a turbo spinning. Therefore it copped a tiny IHI turbo.
What's wrong with beastiality? Don't knock it until .. oops wrong forum.
I met a guy in Scotland (Back in '91 when I was travelling about" who had, as he put it "a CX500 Chopped". They do some wierd stuff to bikes in europe, it was the most God awful looking thing I had everseen and when he took me for a ride it was slower than my CB250T I had back home. And with the thing being hardtailed was very uncomfortable. Wish I took a photo of it.
