I ran a genuine gel seat on my Gen11, it looked good, but may as well sat on a piece of plywood! Either get Big Kev to reupholster the original seat or buy urself an Airhawk. I have ridden many miles on an Airhawk including many 1000klm plus day's both on the Gen1 and a Gen11, I can vouch for their comfort. (And NO, I don't sell them!!!)

Cheers,
Tex & Bundy

Thanks heaps Tex,I will have a look at the airhawk.
cheers.
Adrian.
for what's it worth i tried a airhawk and sent it back after 2 weeks , it didnt seem to work for me on longer rides , the guy gave me 100% mony back no questions asked too. But definelty worth a try.

In the end after a cheap sheep skin cover from the wool store did the job cost about $50. This combined with regular stops helps but doesnt stop the sore arse 100%.
I have the standard seat on my gen2 and i find very comfy.

big kev

i pulled apart the gen 2 gel seat the other day and i know why there not that good its the way they have made the foam that holds the gel in to hard ask (dddd) he knows all about it
I have the gel seat and love it. Compared tot he standard seat I have found it to be alot better. I must admit when you first sit on it it does feel like a plank of wood but that is only for the first couple of km's (in my case anyway) then it moulds to you and is great. I am not saying it is the best option out there but it an improvement over standard. It just depends on personal preference i suppose. If you know of people with different styles of seats/covers ask if you can take them for a ride and make up your own mind.
Let us know what you decide
Happy riding :)
Adrian, just remember, if u try the Airhawk, play with different air pressures, mine is almost flat but the air cells are integrated therefore the air is over a wider area. U will still get "hot" spots on ur arse but no where as bad as a stock seat. If u wear leathers, u will be slightly more comfortable than if u were to wear jeans. Trial and error, perhaps a sheepskin over an airhawk would be the go!.

Cheers,
Tex & Bundy.
forgot what bike you came from Adrian, but as a rule first timers on busas should give at least 2 weeks for their body to blend in with the bike. I know it took me that period to adjust to the busa seating and posture. If you still have a prob after that then find a solution.
I swear by my airhawk gen 1 I used to get a sore ass after about 250ks now with airhawk can comfortably go 800-900 no probs

I love my sheepskin cover. I did a lap with just that and was fine (although some of the less kind may suggest I already have padding in that area). Big kev just did me a new one and the price was comparable to 09Syd, but MUCH better build quality.
Thanks heaps for all your help guys, the busa goes in for its 1st service on thursday planning a trip so will take volvis advise and give it a couple of weeks, coming from a ZZR11 the riding pos is different so it may be a matter of getting used to it,once again guys thanks heaps will let you know.(love this forum)
