Hey all

I'm about to hop on the bike and head for Sydney for Tex and Jen's BBQ. It is STINKING hot here in Canberra and I can't imagine it is much better in Sydney. I'm considering wearing my mesh jacket (with armour before anyone worries).

I've never worn a mesh jacket for any length of time, I only use mine for commuting in summer. The question is, what are they like for a couple of hundred kms? I don't want to get out there and suddenly be freezing because I'm sitting on 120kms/hr, or go mental from the air racing around under the jacket like squirrels f*&^ing.

Any advice?
no advice on da mesh, Heidi....

.....but bring ya wets just in case, m8.....it's lookin' a bit "iffy" around here !

I have a mesh jacket and i don't notice any wind chill in warmer tempratures. I went for a 100 or so km ride yesterday in 35c tempratures and was fine.

REALLY! That's funny, that happened to me last time. II didn't look at the BOM site and it was scorching in Canberra. When I hit Goulbourn it was like running into a black wall. Stormed all the way to Sydney. Off to the BOM site then. DOn't mind getting a bit wet in the leathers, but mesh would suck.

big kev

HI,

If your Mesh Jacket has the cold/rain inserts then you can carry the same along...so incase you get cold you have a warm insert.

No, this one is just mesh, which is why I'm a bit worried. I've got my dri-rider which is great and has the inserts, this is just mesh and some armour. I'll wear it and take a long-sleeved t-shirt in case I get sick of the wind.

Mmmmm 300 KM like what - shouldn't take you more then a hour ;)
No worries Heidi

I wore a meshie for 3 days on our 10th anniversary run and, even at some near-warp speeds and on cool mornings, didn't have any chilly moments.

Very comfortable but I wouldn't fancy sliding down the road in one.
Isn't the Hume only 110kmh?

:)

Who pays attention to signs...you gotta go really fast on the highways just to make it interesting.
