What is the best paint to use to touch up a few very small scratches I put on the frame when taking stickers off? In particular the decibel sticker on the right side just under the tank must have been put on with superglue so stupidly I resorted to trying to lift the edge using a stanley trimmer blade - and guess what? Do you think that a spray can of black enamel would cover it? Is so, should I use matt, or gloss or what? Maybe Suzuki provides touch up paint? Cheers,
The black paint on the Gen 2 frame is a semi gloss. If you intend to spray it with a pressure pack can you would have to mask up and cover the whole bike completely,as the black over spray would ruin your white paint work! Large disposable thin plastic drop sheets are available from Bunnings for several dollars. It looks like,as I read it, you removed the decibal sticker and the black paint came off with the sticker! If so,there would be an edge around where the sticker used to be.If you sprayed over it, the edge would problaby still be visible. Before compounding the problem even more, it may be prudent to have a motor cycle smash repairer repaint it. A motor cycle smash repairer will have the paint needed and they usually have the special touch up brushes. If you wanted to do the touch up yourself, you can buy touch up paint with a brush (similar to nail polish) from Repco,SuperCheap Auto or KMart. If you can't find semi gloss black,go to an automotive paint supply shop, they'll have paint (in a tin or pressure pack can) all purpose thinners and touch up brushes (they come in about 4 or 5 different sizes). You could also use a fine or thin black permanent marker to colour the scatches in.I hope this is of help to you.
