Ok this has been bothering me since I got my 06 bog standard Busa. The idle will fluctuate when warmed up. It doesn't do it cold and another Busa I took for a spin before buying mine did the same.

I have just over 6400 on the clock and as far as I know the bike has no mods...certainly non that can be seen. I will be doing an oil change very soon...changing over to full synthetic... so wondered if anyone had suggestions as to what is causing the idle problem. The fluctuation is between 500 to 1000 rpms and fairly fast.

Do you mean that your idle revs can vary 500 - 1000rpm above idle speed? I'd give Pete @ Pete's Pitstop a call...contact details can be found on the googlenet, other than that, have a chat to one of the local boys over there in WA....maybe Camel?
It should be more around 30 to 50 rpm
Check your throttle body synch and also A/F ratio after that.
Does the idle rate change if you put it in gear and hold the clutch in ?
Ok guys my bad the fluctuation is about 100 rpms up and down it also does it when cold. I figured the air cleaner may need a blow out. It looks to be a lean hunt...but this is the first EFI bike I have had. I will check the AF ratio and the throttle body sync..I presume the process is in the manual? I have no special equipment at the moment....ie manometer...do have a single vacuum gauge with a four way switching valve that I used for the bandit carbs just wondering if that will work.
