Went for a "group ride" the other day.

I didn't know the other riders beforehand, and I assumed it was a "hard scrape" with the boys, so single seat, full leathers, etc. but when I got to the meeting point, there were a few with pillions etc. so I ducked back home to pick up the Mrs, so she could enjoy the twisties too. After all, the route was Tallangatta / Corryong / Cabramurra / Jindabyne / Thredbo / Khancoban and back to Tallangatta. ( A top loop ride)

I thought, we'll still have fun, and Cathy hangs off the back and wont complain as long as I don't go toooo crazy.

I didn't have to worry . . . bloody hell. A Leader, a "pointer" (whatever the f*** that is) and a tail end charlie. ????? -get the idea?

No matter how hard I baited them all I couldn't get a decent run with any of them. No-one, thru that beautiful park had any real desire to stretch their legs and have some "serious" fun.

We (just us) ended up stopping at each of the veiwing points to take photos, then I played as we blasted round the outside of some on corners, ducked up the inside on others, and then stopped to wait at the next lookout.

By the end of the day I'm sure I had totally pissed them all off, but by the end of the day I couldn't have given a shit. At least I had fun!

- don't think they'll ask me again . . . and I don't think I'd go if they did!

Anyone want to enlighten me on how it should be done?
.....it should be done.....juz da way ya did it, Wardie!!! Pi_thumbsup

IMO, they should have made mention that the ride was going to be either " steady or spirited " before hand so people new what to gear up for and what to expect without wrecking everyones day out.
I pretty much avoid group rides if theres more than half a dozen, too many different styles, some want to fang it , others just go for a cruise, I generally get frustrated and it buggers up my day.

WOW, if you tried to push your bus up the inside of me mid corner, i would be worried. I actually have a bike that handles. If you feel that you need to do that to the guys you ride with, then i think you would be better off riding on your own.

I enjoy a good spirited ride, and am no slug through the corners, but i have never stuffed it up the inside on anyone on a public road.

Congratulations on being a tosser!

Point taken, if you have a bike that handles, and you're not a slug, I probably couldn't pass you 2up on the bus in the corners anyway.
I left plenty of room and the other riders were aware, and never need to change their line as I came thru. - But yep Tosser is about right!!

Now Corbins Harley . . . he throws that about !!

I concur.
Ward, I would be quite comfortable giving you a touch up at the next stop had you pulled that kind of crap with me.

I think you're being a bit harsh on the Wardy If you're going to give anyone here a touch up, line me up first, and there will be a line after me. We riding Hayabusas here not rosary beads.

Some guys don't know how to explore their own limits Wardy! Way to go!

Thats the reason i don't go when Glen asks me Ward i like to ride my wayScary and these boys are very tame Nerd
Overtaking on the inside is a big No No you have no way of predicting what the rider in front is going to do
Now where is that Corbin Knuppel2
Madmax, riding up the inside of a rider that you know is silly, doing it with people you dont know is a wanker move no matter what bike you're riding. And then to jump on a forum and take the piss out of them for the way they lead/follow etc is just poor form, dont like THEIR run dont make it unsafe JUST LEAVE.

Everyone should ride to their own abilities. If you are comfortable riding with spirit then get up the front and go for it. Me on the other hand would be the slow old fart at the back.

The onus is on you to provide yourself and those around you with a safe riding environment!
