g'day busa boys i need a bit of help i have a bit of knocking noise in my bike when i let the clutch outUndecidedbut when i pull the clutch in no noise. its a 2000 mod i have had that many answer's im a bit lostIdiot2 can someone help with the right one thanks heaps .
Knocking from this area could be the clutch bearing or wear on the inner tangs where they mate with the outer basket. Another thing could be warped driven plates causing the whole clutch pack to wobble. I have never pulled a Busa clutch down but they cannot be much different from the ones I have so I would be looking at those points...esp a 2000 model with mileage on it.

Good luck
thanks steve Pi_thumbsup i know where to start looking now .
Back torque limiter can rattle a bit sometimes , but more of a worry would be the clutch spring mount studs , there a common prob on the late model bikes but the early ones did it occasionally too
all good thanks for the help will have a look 2moz as it only just started doing it around a week ago. but it bugs the hell out of me thinking should i ride it or not thanks again for the info.

My 2000 had a slightly strange noise at idle that changes when you pull the clutch in & out . it worried me when I Bought the bike at 18,000 km .
I have spoken to many gen1 owners since then & they all do it . I'm up to 50,000 km now & never a problem . Not a metal on metal grinding type noise more just a change in noise .Check with some other gen 1 blokes near you .
All I Know is mine sounds exactly the same as the other 100 plus Busa's I've heard running, Gen 1.
Ducatitis?

Ha ha, gold!

My Busa is a '99 & the clutch sounds a little noisy at with the clutch out at idle & always has. It hasn't gotten worse over time or with an extra 25,000kms on the clock & still works perfectly. From what I have read & heard it is a normal occurrence
