Hi Guys, has any one have any experience with the kwaka ninja 250cc. My son is just getting his bike licence and is looking around for his first bike. I have done some research and these seem to be the way to go but I thought it may pay to ask the question to you guys.

Thanks in advance
My Wifes sister Had one and it was a great little bike never had any problems with it at all Pi_thumbsup
I had a ninja 250 loaner when the busa was in for a service , Wouldn't pull a greasy stick out of a dog's arse . I Started my Boy on a Baby Blade, bloody brilliant bike 220 top speed & will cruise on 140 easy . They are a high rever 18-19000 rpm So You wouldn't want more than about 40,000 on a used one. I ran it in for him & bloody loved it .If you can find an Aust bought one ( non grey import ) They have a few more HP & Twin discs on the Front . I Guess you don't want him on a rocket ship but the Learner's Quickly tire of the 250 . The local forum I'm in has a lot of learner's talking the same subject & most seem to go for a restricted 650/500,so they can still get some use out of it once off your restriction's.
Mine went from the Baby blade To approx 10 rides on my 600 then straight to the Busa,Which he rides like he was Born on It . I used to put a sign on his tank every time he parked it in the shed ,so he would see it when he got on . He fkn hated it . It Said, in large print ,What are the cars trying to do Their trying to fkin kill you . It worked .

Heard the brand new ninjas kick arse.

If I were choosing my first bike again, it'd be an vfr400...

Styled my own bike around an nsr:

I reckon it's a great learners bike. They've been around for years, so all the bugs are ironed out. They go forever, pretty good on fuel, parts everywhere. a cheap new bike. Biker
How much money has he got to spend ?
After a year does he want to upgrade ?

He could go for a 650 Lams approved bikes which might last longer in the long run Biker

GSX650F LAMS

SFV650 LAMS

SV650S LAMS
If you go the 500/650 restricted bike , check out the de restriction cost before purchase . You wouldn't want to fork out for a new ECU .
I love your thinking fellars but unfortunately this doesn't apply to WA were a little bit behind the eight ball in this respect as I totally agree that there is plenty of bikes bigger than a 250 that would be prefect.

Just as you have listed below and I could think og a couple more as well but no use talking about it as we can't do it..

Andcad I forgot to ask when I saw you tonight is the bike going to be a daily commute or just a weekend bike??

Twins are not the fastest thing out there but they are easy to ride , makes it a good choice in my books for the beginner,
Brought my daughter a zzr250, and when she is more experianced will look at the sv
has a lot of trail bike experiance but the road is a hell of a lot more hazardous

You Sandgropers are lagging behind Pi_tongueVery Happy

Thanks for all the input guys, he ended up going for the Ninja. Should pick it up in the next week sometime.
The Kwak is reliable, but if fun is wanted, Aprillia 250c. I had one and at the time I was 100kg. Was still passing guys on 600s around the GOR.

Only on LAMS; without WA the rest of the country wouldn't be able to afford bikes Pi_tongueVery Happy

Depends if he intends to keep it for a while or flip it as soon as he's got his Open. If the Latter, any second hand 250 will do and if you are looking at a NEW bike, then the Daelim 250 is far cheaper than the Ninja and does the job equally well to start with. When he wants a bigger bike, then people will buy a well looked after one-owner. It about depreciation as well as which bike your son preferred. If he is keeping it for say 5 or more years, even if he went to a bigger bike, then perhaps a CB400 or a CBR250r would be the way to go. These bikes will retain their value better and are the kind that would be enjoyable riding even if you had a Hayabusa as well. Nothing wrong with Ninja's as it's the top selling 250 for exactly these purposes, but the CBR250r is right up there with it, plus it's got newer technology (EFI, ABS etc). Got to think outside the box these days, especially when it come to depreciation. The Ninja 250 will last for YEARS, but so will a LAM Hyosung 650. So to conclude,
for a low initial outlay and minimum depreciation, if you want to flip the bike;
A/ Daelim VJF 250/Torino or 400cc Terra(on/offroad enduro) of Laro SPT 350 or Kinlon 200RT
keeping it for a few years:
B/ Honda CBR250r or CB400 or Lams Hyosung 650
