Anyone out there got or ridden a M109R???

Been talking to a few people about them lately, and got some good reports.

Not a Busa, but Big bad beast.

This is where i found out about the gearbox it was in the Aus section down the Bottom
M109R Forum
we had one join us on a cruise on saturday morning, i was quite surprised to watch it keep up with a piped and tuned gen2 to the top of 1st with smoke pissing off the back tyre, loud and imo ugly as shit......... i wouldnt mind having one lol
I had one. I'll probably have another one. Big, physically tiring to push hard through corners, scrapes the pegs lots. With some good pipes, tune, air box work and cams I've seen some dyno charts up around the 130-140rwhp with about the same in torques. All I can say is it was heaps and heaps of fun. The gearbox issue isn't a biggie unless your unlucky, also a lot of the problems come from people not shifting positively ie a good solid shift.
I had a M109R for about 2and a half years loved the feel of that big VTwin and no mistake for a 320kg bike these things get up and go. I took the speed, rev limiter off when i removed the retard on the first 3gears and it would patch up and wheelstand without any effort. mine was one of the 1st 109s and i sold it at about 30000k and id had no trouble with the gearbox at all in fact i,d had no trouble with it at all. I only sold it because i,d always loved the hayabusa and i,d got sick of fighting the wind on a cruiser. Some people put screens on them but to me screens on a 9 look dicky.
Taken a big Triumph for a blast ? I rode one a while ago and figured if i wanted a more cruiser mode after busa that was it

nice cheers guys.

Nearly bought an M109 over the Busa last year. Test rode one and I found that they are great cruisers and only that. Great headturners as well. My first corner on the testride was met with surprise, not as easy to turn as the busa, and heavy. Heaps of straight line acceleration. If you want the best of both worlds I would highly suggest a Ducatti Diavel, cruising and sportsbike performance wise.

I thought I wanted a cruiser early last year so I test rode the "BIG 3"
The Triumph Rocket, the thunderbird and the M109R.
Loved the Rocket, but tooo big and ugly, wanted to love the Thunderbird, looked good but no real gat up and go (was the 1600 not the 1700)
The M109 had some nice go, but I could not get it around roundabouts, even real slow without scraping.

I then realised I wasn't really ready for a cruiser, but the rocket was definitely the most fun, and made the 'busa feel very underpowered down low after. It'd be my choice too! Biker
You lot should wash your mouths out....shame shame shame......lol!
We sell a bunch of stuff to the M109 owners.

Biggest thing they buy from me is the Galfer Wave Rotors. Chrome ones can be had front & back.

The rear rotor on that bike is very pricey as it's a full-floating rotor. Basically, a front, on the back.
My legs aren't getting much better and I'm starting to seriously consider the C109RT. Love the look, hate the poxy nose thingy on the M109, will take a pair of extra headlights beside the headlight. Talking the local dealer into bringing a Demo in so Busdriver and I can test one. My legs just wont take the riding position on longer trips. Will hold onto the Black Busa for as long as I can, but that probably wont be too much longer. My cook also has to test ride the pillion seat to see if she likes it or not.
The Black Busa may well be going up for sale shortly. If you want a list of the things I've done to her pm me.
