I guess you would need to check your vehicles max towbar download, as the Busa + carrier would be an easy 300kg (not to be confused with max towing capacity).
wouldn't want someone to rear end you at the traffic lights!!
These rack style carriers seem to be ideal for the lighter weight bikes (MX or enduro bike), but I've always wondered what sort of damage is being caused to heavier bikes (1000cc + road bikes) due to the following factors:-
* the unconventional style of loading (ie: sideways);
* weight of load;
and mainly...
* the forces involved (to & fro motion) whilst changing gears, driving up hill / down hill, and when making brake applications (both normal and hard)?!?

Like you Kevin, I've also wondered if they are any good...Confused

Has anyone here got one of these set-ups....and are they any good for the heavier bikes?!? Undecided

I haven't measured, but I reckon it would hang out a fair bit on each side of a "normal" car.
I looked at all the bike transport options myself before building the proper trailer for it. With this carrier (assuming the towbar and the car's suspension can take the 300kg load safely) you will need to get yourself few spare sets of fairings and engine covers right away as you are guranteed to drop the bike while loading/unloading. It is a good idea for a ligt off road bike but busa need a bit different approach INHO. And as far as these foldable trailers go, after seeing one I decided that once more the old saying is true -quality does not came cheap nor from China.

Had something similar holding an XL250 for a blast upto Noosa on the back of a XB Uterus years ago, thing was what I used was well over Engineered and the weight of the Bike was taken over two points of the back of the car...............Personally, I wouldnt put my K9 up on one of those units, although my Suspension is well more than adequate to take the load of the K9 and the Unit, I just wouldnt trust it.
I also think that his method of putting his Ducrappi up on the Unit is Frought with Danger, Danger to the Bike and the person putting it up on the Carrier.

Just my opinion. Very Happy[/align]

I can just see our little mazda doing a wheelie up the street with the busa strapped to its back Lol3

I reckon I'd have a better chance of strappin' the mazda onto the busa's back .. Coolsmiley
If we here in Europe drive with motorcycle on or off cars to rear than the front lifted,
sur with a hayabusa on it.
The idea alone makes me shiver.
And our cars are also much smaller.
New member joined up today must have been reading this thread looks like he imports these .

I think it's fantastic that forums are around for like minded people to discuss all things bike related. I'm passionate about bikes and have been involved in and out of the industry for 20years. Weather you agree or disagree with the products I sell is your choice. But C'mon mate, having a dig a another bike riders pride and joy ("Ducrappi") isn't overly called for. I own both a 1098 an GSXR 1000 K9 track bike and they are both pleasures to own... I like to think most bike riders out the can appreciate another bike good or bad. Let's face it, "99.9%" bikes have pros and con.. Just saying that's all. No big deal!

Hi, my names Patrick from nicerack.com.au a friend of mine emailed me this link to this discussion. Firstly I'm not here to try and flog our products, but happy to offer some advice in this topic. I was a customer of moto tote carries long before I decided to bring them to Australia. So I was once in your shoes, reading through forums to find out what the general thought about carriers. We have sold a handful of MTX Sports racks to customers with busa's and we have also refused to sell to 2 busa customers with inappropriate vehicle/towbar combo, that had the "she'll be right" attitude (safety first). So if anyone is interested in coming down to see the carriers in action, with my "Duccrappi" (as one member mentioned) then all are welcome. Thanks to everyone for their input
Hi Patrick, At least you have 1 nice bike. Lol3
Don't be too thin skinned around here, they're a decent bunch of blokes and girls(the honda riders), and aren't at all racist. They'll put shit on anything that isn't a hayabusa! Pi_tongue

Welcome
Just a thought, but with a large group of us meeting at Tathra early December, depending on where you live, you could always drop by and give all the doubters a demo.
Hi Guys

Thanks for the feedback and I was only curious about the rack as most of you know space is fast becoming something of the past and is something that I'm always trying to maximize as I don't have a lot of room for a Trailer.

Now in saying that I've always been a trailer fan when it comes to the Busa mainly because of it's size and weight ( don't tell the thou guys I just said that Lol3) and my preference would probably still be a trailer.

I've been thinking about another bike dirt or tack and thought that as the bikes I'm thinking of are a lot smaller and lighter that this may have been an option.

Anyway would be good if someone on the east coast could take Patrick up on his offer and go and have a look at the product and give us some feedback.

Thanks for the offer there Patrick hope someone takes you up on it.

Cheers Rev004
