Well.. it's nearly that time of year again, my busa has about 5 days of rego left then it gets packed away in the shed for winter...
I know lots of you would be saying " Wtf get urself some wet weathers and keep riding... "
The way I see it is that I don;t enjoy being cold or getting wet and frozen. Riding my bike is something I love doing and want to enjoy not endure. Over winter the bike gets a good look over and maybe this year some blinging up too??? Also the $300+ for rego over the winter period is reduced to $80 for a pre-rego inspection in October (more buckaroonies for bling).
This winter m yplans are to do the following...
> service and fluid changes
> new rotors/pads
> replace chain/spockets
> look at front brake mod to remove shudder
> put on bar raisers
> check valve clearances and timing chain
> check wheel bearing (thanks to new thread lol)
> mod stock cans
> install new undertail and lights
> install numbered gear indicator
> do hump mod for more storage
> replace clutch cover with see through unit and mod faring to suit
> new mirrors, grips, rear indicators, pegs
> .................. the list can be endless but the finances aren't Pi_tongue

If anyone has some good ideas about what else needs looking at I will have all that riding time to be playing on bike.....
How about a small turbo?

do you live in the snowies,i ride the whole yr rain or shine hot or cold, are you american?

Sorry revhead, I'm with batfink, nearly time to put away for a few months:(
If I lived in tasmania I probably would too, but up here in queensland we just put the thermal liners back in our jackets and dig out the old RJ's neck ring. If you stay near the coast it's all good.
wow ,im up near coffs harbour, lovely weather most of the yr round,

i used to live n ride all around canberra when i was a young fella, black ice n all,lol
My Busa has been in Hibernation for 3 months now. I am actually thinking of selling her.

Lol!

At approx $300 a ride this year it just doesnt seem right keeping her!

I reckon it's worth the price just to open the shed and look at her sitting quietly in the corner and saying "I'm here and ready when you are!!"
Sometimes I hug my Busa and give it a kiss. My wife's caught me and slapped me on the back of the head more than once!
Hey rev.. I have done my time on a bike.. cold..wet..pnuemonia LOL plus while I don't WANT to ride in those conditions I really don't want to be on the same road on a bike with morons pretending to ice dance up the road in 1250kg of steel cause they bought the new mobile rather than replaced decade old rubber...
Plus I have a nice 6 months of playing with (rather than on) bike, not wait until I need it then it goes off road for mechanicals.

gringo.. Tassie isn't that bad, I think the weather in Canberra is pretty similar and it has some of the best riding roads in OZ in my view (but then I haven't riden outside Tassie LOL)

I think if you could get rego in 14 yearly lots I would probably have it on the road 3/4 of a year LOL but then the difference between loosing a 1/4 rego and getting it inspected would be about the same
i suppose living in the northern suburbs of the south pole you can be excused,

You just need a tech to lock it in "C" mode and all will be good
Winter riding is some of the best, that is if you live here in the West. I have to agree being on the same road as some drivers in ice would be scary. Come to think of it I would not like to be riding with the likely hood of ice. Last time I was in Europe I came unstuck crossing a road when I stood on ice much to everyones amusement.
