I just bought a couple of socket sets and other tools off eBay through this aussie shop selling tons of minimax (made in japan) tools. I took delivery of the first set and a pair of multi grips (Huge pair) and they are the read deal.
Minimax went broke some years back apparently but not from the lack of quality in their gear, I still have some sockets from the 80's and they are as good as dowidat and proto gear. I bought the 3/8 drive socket set with torx and allen key fittings, 6~26mm sockets and the rachet has a notched joint at the end which is useful in some applications.
Anyway it looks like someone bought a ton at auction and every day they renew the listings and it's always the same gear. There are not a lot of bids, usually only one per lot and often none. I don't think a lot of people are aware of what this gear is worth. My first set was $120 delivered and I have a 1/2 inch drive set on the way. Best part is they are all metric so no lugging old AF sockets around that never get used. I got the 3/8 set for the bike to replace a 10 year old Kincrome set that is a pile of shit IMO.
Scope it out boys.

will post some pics of my set up tonight, the eBay pics are pretty lame.
This garbage needed replacing!
