Old Newbie needs some advice regarding recommendations for a 2nd hand Busa. I'm looking but have little knowledge of the Bus models etc. So far I like Low Kays, power commander/4:1 Akro or Yoshi all seems nice but with 10 - 12K to spend which model/trick bits would you have me go for?

Cheers

go find yourself a stocker theres plenty out there ,then fit it up the way you want ,its not that costly to buy all the acc.

Thanks Rev,
You are right mate, there is plenty of low Kay models out there. I believe not much has happened with Bus design since introduction. Is this the case? Are they all good to go?

From a personal point of view, the late 2003's and 2004's onwards sometimes have gearbox problems, but even that's rare. They're all pretty good. Even the high mileage ones actually!
In my opinion, the Gen 2's (2008 >) are a nicer bike to ride. Better brakes, little bit more capacity, a little bit more refined.
Like bellybuttons though, everyone has an opinion!! lol Biker
The Gen1 came out in 1999 and has changed little, just a few refinements and tweaks. If you buy a Gen1 it is basically 1999 technology.

The Gen2 came out in 2008 and hasn't changed at all through 2012. If you buy a Gen2 you get 2008 technology.

Your choice really. I've got both. love 'em both, but you can feel the gen2 refinements - heaps smoother, more powerful, feels lighter, more pillion friendly, just a better bike all round.

10-12k will get you good one with a few extra goodies on it.
Re 2nd hand Busa,

Thanks for all the advice lads, most appreciated. Seems > 2008 has some nods.

Cheers

I have to agree with the guys, even though I haven't owned a Gen I but have ridden plenty I find that the Gen II just does everything that little bit better.

If your planning on modding it well then maybe the Gen I is better they have a stronger block etc when you start heading in this direction but if your looking at just the basic's then the Gen II will do everything that you want.

Here's a couple of bike sales but I have also seen them cheaper than this but I spose it's a case if being in the right place at the right time.

Anyway have fun and post up when you get one.

Hi dad1300,

Mate, a couple of guys in this club are trying to sell their bikes. If you are after a gen1 then I would suggest you look at Shaneg's K7. This is a beautiful looking bike.

or

If you are after a gen2, shoot Piperjon a private message. He has a nice, low K - K8 Jaffa that he is only selling due to medical reasons ..

Cheers
Dale .. and P.S, welcome to the club ..

Hi Guy's and Dale,

only to the left not to the right remember Dale I told you the problems I was having., Now it's just dam a great bike to ride and my dam health has stuffed that.

Thanks to all the guy's I know and road with. But I will drop in now and again and say G'Day.

Ride safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
