How do I remove the rear seat cowl without a key?
Where is your key ?
Remove front large screw from key lock panel (up above rearsets), then pop out all undertail ouch clips so that the whole side of panel lock is on is free.
Now pry the panel away from undertail and hold with wedge.
Get metal coat hanger and put a 90deg bend 10mm from end.
Side this up behind lock (to the rear of bike) with bent leg pointing to front of bike
Now fiddle with it until when you pull down it unlocks hump.

A bit of a PITA but you will get there.
Thats very detailed explanation Tony
I used this solution.

I always had when I was driving with my suitcases.
First loosen the left trunk to use my key to open the hump.
I therefore now uses a pull magnet with a cup on the dachbord to open the hump.
I could claim a new "tech" saying with my ouch clips but in reality DAMN IPAD SELF CORRECTION lol was meant to be push clip. But I do use the term Jesus clip often for those lovely little E-clips used on shafts. The "Jesus" comes from when they go PING and disappear somewhere in the shed as you try to take them off while muttering "JESUS" as soon as they fly.

Yes Steve it is detailed but not from experience with locking in keys LOL I just wanted to know how to do it IF I did lock them in at some stage so I practiced (with keys in the ignition LOL). I was looking at the electronic system Fester had and the cutting away of ridge others have done but I am just going to drill a 12mm hole in undertail, attach small dia cable to mechanism and other end to rubber bung so that I can "unlock" hump without keys/power at any time.
Fester I have just installed my ignition on keyless entry to hump Thanks for your original post! Pi_thumbsup
