I don't mind admitting amongst the blokes(and ladies) at the club that since I heard of Rod's passing earlier in the week that I have shed a few silent tears for him and his wife Janette and their children - even though I hadn't had the pleasure of meeting Rod, he was one of us and will always remain be.

It's always hard keeping a secret, so when Astro confided that there was a good chance that he would be getting another Busa - I was happy that his long wait would finally come to an end,The deal was done and transport arranged from western NSW.

When I spoke to him this morning - he told me that he had to take Friday off work and leave home at 4.30am to catch 3hrs of public transport to get to the transport depot where he could finally take delivery of his new machine.

I had a couple of hours to spare - so I offered to make the trip to the depot and bring the Busa back to my place where he could come and pick it up from.

It was very dirty and dusty so I tubbed it and polished it and gave it a once over - '04 model with 2431 klms.

When Rob arrived at 8pm to pick it up - the look on his face when i lifted the garage door was well - happy to say the least.

He rang me when he got home at 9.45pm - said he was too pumped to sleep and was going for a long ride - would sleep when he got home in the am.

He's got three days off to ride it....

We all know how he's feeling at the moment - won't wipe the smile off his face for a week.

Enjoy it Rob - You've waited long enough - we'll catch up for a coffee soon.
