Did that make the mainstream news? In some ways, I hope not, cause we don't need copycats either...

I did not see it on the news. But its a fine line between warning bikers that this is going on and giving the nutters ideas of what to do Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul.

Huh,prolly no different to the cheese slicers the safety wankers put on the side of our highways (like geelong rd),only difference is they are allowed to put them there legally.
The Phantom is back !

That's the third time in my lifetime of riding that I've heard it done. Never had the experience of knowing a victim though. That's a tough story about your cousin and great gesture.
cheers

There was a movie years ago called "stoned" I think, that showed a scene of this happen. Scared the shit out on me then and have thought of it countless times when riding.

Rod, that really makes you stop and recount life and humane nature of some wonderful people in a world that is turning it's back on one another.

Bad news about your cousin Rod. There but for the grace of God go I. Living in Goulburn in 1978 I had a similar thing done across a road, the wire was from a paddock fence on one side of the road. A car had driven into the wire and was was waving at me to stop before I got to where his car was pulled up on the road. Just another small suburban street, it had the desired effect though, I never road my bike down that road again. maybe the triple expansion chambers I had on my GT550 were too loud??? I would love to have caught the fucknuckle/s that did it though.

Cheers

There was an iccident many years ago down at Baxter here, near Frankston, where some crazy farmer hated the sound of Dirt Bikes in the distance riding next to the railway line (crown land either side of railway in thick dense bush).... so he rigged up a line like above... a 16y/o kid was lost, and his mate injured! SHITHOUSE ... never caught who it was, though knew it was this farmer.

All the kids were doing was riding down south to Mornington to ride in the old resivioirs and paddocks.

On the farm as a lad my dear father decided that a gateway was bowing out so he run a wire so to pull the fence in line and i hit it at around 20-30 clicks took me across the chest and dumped me on my ass. At road bike speed it would be a result inconcievale

speaking of Stone, in the sep issue of Rapid theres a really nice rep Z9.

It belongs to old Jim Johnston a good mate of my boss, but I'll be buggered why they both love the Kwakas so much?
