Heads up for those who are interested
Rider Safety on the agenda at Mt Glorious
Motorcycle riders can have their say on road safety at a Rider Survivor event at Maiala Rainforest Teahouse and Restaurant, Mt Glorious on Sunday, 29 October 2006.
Rider Survivor is an initiative of Queensland Transport in association with the Queensland Police Service and the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety – Queensland (CARRS-Q) and aims to increase awareness of road safety issues associated with motorbike riding in the area.
The Rider Survivor event supports the road safety initiative "Ride and Drive the mountain - it's glorious" day and there will be static displays and information for riders along with a DVD showing safety awareness and information on hazard perception, braking distances and scanning techniques.
Accident investigation and treatment personnel will also profile what happens in the event of a serious crash.
Participants will be able to have their say on motorcycle road safety through a survey which will provide Queensland Transport with some insight into how to better address road safety for motorcycle riders. Those completing the survey will go into a draw to win motorcycle safety gear from Morgan and Wacker.
Come for a ride and have your say on motorcycle safety in a welcoming environment.
When:        Sunday, 29 October 2006 @ 9am til 2pm
Where:        Maiala Rainforest Teahouse and Restaurant
1850 Mt Glorious Road, Mt Glorious
