The good...you meet a lot of diff people and machines and occasionally get out for a ride too!

The bad... I have ridden for 30 years and only recently joined a club (or 2). I never used to worry bout coming off because I was oblivious to it all.

What u don't know won't hurt u.

Now I bloody well hear about someone coming to grief almost every f/night.
That's the downside, but like I said hopefully we all learn from others misfortune...

Sad thing is majority of bike accidents happen with no other traffic on the road.

I know what you mean DJ.
I didn't lose a friend to bikes for donkey's years and then joined the Ulysses and have attended about 6 funerals in the past 4 years.
Thankfully most of the Ulysses guys have not been on bikes but suffered from cancer.

R.I.P. Cliff, John, Max, Tony, Jack and Lyn.
