Personally I have always preferred the stock screen I think its just more asymmetrical on the bike. If however I do go for an after market screen I have always had my eye on the German MRA screen with the eyelets (holes).

So the question is are these eyelets of any use?

Also are there screens whose edges are beaded as the OEM?

And are Iridium reliable? Is there a Gold'ish Iridium?

Whats the latest goss on screens?

Busdriver

I've just fitted an MRA Touring Screen. Light Tint in color.

I'll get some pics up on Friday. Looks good. It turns up at the rear of the screen for the full width of the screen. It comes with a strip of rubber edging to fit along the rear edge of it.

Took me ages to get it though. Ordered it 7/2/06 and got it near the end of May.

Regards,
Busdriver

PS: Does not have holes in it. (except the holes to mount it) Edited by: Busdriver at: 15/6/06 8:22 pm

not as thick as others!
U talkin to me Ray!!!??

I like the stock look too to be honest although I have a (What is that one u sold me Rev?) aftermarket one.

The orig suits the look of the bike to a tee and is much more sleek, low and streamlined..shame about the wind... Cheers,
Pete

i think mine is stock with a slight tint
i prefer the stock look, though my brother says the bigger screens give better protection at high speed Dorothy

I don't know about the MRA screens in particular but the iridium screen I got last year scratched up badly in the first week. it looked really nice when first fitted. maybe i was doing something wrong.

I have the MRA Double bubble on mine with the two holes in it

It's good for tucking down when your at the track. I can get

right out of the wind when at the strip....works for me..

i put a mra double bubble with vents ..give good protection and easy to see my gauges ....that helps being 6'

I prefer the stock and being vertically challenged, wind was never a problem, except maybe after cashew nuts, they seem to have an effect. But I wanted to install a gear indicator where I could actually see it rather than where most seem to fit it under your left hand. The only place is right in the centre where the triangular plastic bit goes, but with the standard bubble, there's no room. So I got a "gold iridium" (Copper/Silver Bus) through ebay. Not fitted with edging like original, but looks OK and the dashboard I made up fits OK as well.
I actually think the double bubble is slightly noisier and there's a bit more buffeting! Gut feel only.
The gold suits the bike though.

interesting Bear, I was interested in the gold iridium too pls give me link and how much were they?

question is will the iridium last?

mine is a stocky, its never broke so i never fixed it.

GPI fits in it perfectly.

I'll have to see if I kept any paperwork, or maybe check the ebay for a record. Back to you soon. You can see it from the inside on the thread I posted about the dashboard.
Cheers

BEAR

Not very good photos, but you can see the bike can lean over far more with the double bubble on it!

BUSGO

I luvs me tinted MRA double bubble with vents.
$189.

Never had any rain get through and if it was raining hard enough to get through I would be wet anyway!

It also had a nice trim, but that blew off at 250+ when I crested a hill and disappeared into the bushes.
