i have been given a price of $18000 on road from sydney city cycles and $18500 from dahlitz here in canberra are these good prices? every were else either didnt give me a firm price or said something like $19000+ so whats a good price for a new Busa?

wearlej

There's a newish member on OzBB who reckons he found a new busa from a dealer for 15,500, to be honest it sounds unlikely to me but I have asked him to let me know the full details so I can pass them on to you. We'll see if he comes through or not ---------------------------------

DAMN thats cheap. the dealers are telling me they are scraping the barrel with 18000 they recon they arent making much money at all. that would be great if he does come through and would be much appreciated if you could pass on that info

Dealers will tell you anything incl pleading poor.

Towards the end of the year is when the best deals are to be had ... also in cold Vic too as bike sales must be slow now

Try sunstate suzuki
they ship all over the place
The owner jamie is a good guy
He sold aBUSa & I a new 04 for $17k each ride away but I have brought from him before. even without pushing him he would have been under $18k

$17K is a good price ride away Shane -- understand why ya bought a 2nd with a deal like that....

now.......... what about the CBR1000R......

how ya going up there anyway mate

Fords01

You have to keep pushing. I picked up my 04 brand new 17500 ride away but was told by all other dealers that 18000 is the limit.

The same place was selling gsxr1000 for 15500 ride away.
I didnt buy one as having to ride everyday i thought that I would lose my licence 2 quick.

Lost it in the end anyway!

Cheers Fords

A bit late now, but by buying towards the end of financial year you should be able to negotiate a great deal simply by telling them if they give you a good enough price you will buy now, otherwise you will wait until the new FY. They want to get thier yearly figures up, so you should be able to wangle a deal.

Also, try to get a bargain by going for options rather than price, it may be worthwhile getting a years insurance for the same price, or a new helmet or something. By getting goods thrown in you can both win. Say you only want to pay $17k for the bike, well, accept thier offer of $18k if they throw in a brand new helmet (worth $1000). They win because the helmet has thier markup on it and you win because you get your $17k deal (in a roundabout way).

17.5 on road. or less for an odd last year model run out sale if they got one, saw 1 on bikesales.com.au a little while back.
