Hi anyone do the snowy ride? Also anyone here know of anyone that did the ride and got a speeding ticket. I would like them to contact me please.

Hey Kawasuki,
Yep I think one of our group got one. I'll try and get him to contact you.

the reason I am asking this is, Because many were booked for speeding and they were under the pretense (not official) that there going to be warnings for the first offense. Last year i spoke to the highway patrol Sgt and he told me speed cameras near towns and went on to say but there are plenty of roads out there to enjoy yourself. I think with the pull the Snowy organizers had as in money spent at Thredbo they should have insisted first warning system or take our business elsewhere. I have been in contact with a solicitor who is an expert in motorcycle law and loopholes, and we could get a class action going regarding speeding fines at the Snowy Ride. Leave your email and I will get back to you

G'day
Most of our group passed highway patrol vehicles at anything up to 35km over posted limits on the day of the ride. And there were many hwp out, maintaining a high profile. All we got was a wave...
Except one of our groups was pulled up for breath testing on the way home Sunday between Dead Horse Gap and Khancoban - which startled them because they had been doing 110 in an 80 zone when pulled over!
Then the officer must have put the breathalyser away and pulled out the radar, because the last of our riders came over the same crest at 120 or so a little later, and was most offended that he got booked for 15 - 30 over the limit.
I'm a bit curious as to how fast those booked were actually travelling, and whether they were on the Saturday of the ride or on rides to and from the event?

Kevin

G'day
Forgot to mention the ride to the ride...
Glenbrook to Picton to Macquarie pass to Jamberoo pass to Kiama to Bega to Bombala to Cooma to Thredbo...
And forgot to mention the ride after the ride...
Dead Horse Gap to Khancoban to Granya to Tallangatta to Tawonga Gap to Bright to Mt Hotham (3 degrees celsius and vis about 20 metres) to Omeo to the Blue Duck to Bruthen to Koo Wee Rup to Sorrento to Queenscliff to Port Campbell to Geelong to Melbourne (2 new D207 tyres at Peter Stevens great service at nil notice by the way) to Kingslake to Yea to Euroa to Albury to Walwa to Tumbarumba to Gungagai to home (Glenbrook) via the freeway last night. Yes the freeway kms were very ordinary, but done in absolutely pouring wet conditions, best option IMO.
Our sons on CBR600 and GPZ600 accompanied us all the way, and we had up to twelve bikes (including another 3 buses) in the group at different times..

Down here, in the state of No Chance, waving cops means "Hey, see you later, in court, cause you just got done by the speed camera we set up especially for ya"... :">

Kevin the guy who was booked, was he riding with a group or in a group of riders?

G'day
Two up but single bike. I might mention that he pulled up 200 metres down the road so the cop would have a stroll..kinda reduced his chances of leniency maybe?
