I suppose the same parallels could be drawn for our own situation here in Oz ?

I recently got my reply from the Minister for Transport re the $50 draconian penalty imposed by our social engineers & was informed that quote " if we passed on the true costs incurred you would be paying $700"

My reaction to that is let us see the figures & let's see the methods used for calculation. Even if we did cost a bit more to rehab it is justifiable given that it's usually car drivers that put us into hospital beds in the first place.

If anything, the US figures would be far worse than ours as they have a spirited riding mentality together with other issues which would tend to overshadow the situation here in Oz.

Not to mention that helmets are not compulsory in all states in the U.S. (Are they compulsory in any states?)
