i was surprised to learn that suzuki still make the Katana but dont import it to Australia most of the import bike shops can bring them in for you if you ask nicely I was looking at a 2006 1000 cc before i bought the Busa still has the original shape as the old bikes also just goes better around corners in my eyes the KAT was the original Busa made for going fast in a straight line but with a few good mods it could handle the corners too
Good call Bill. When I was a teenager, their was a Katana and a 84 CB1100R. I would stop in my tracks every time I saw them. They both seemed impossibly huge. Small town, everyone talking behind their hands sort of stuff about suicide machines. I knew where I was heading given the first opportunity.
Katana's are made for driving off the side of mount gravatt LOL.
yeah I don't like that much either

I like that new one, looks cool i rekon!

Old katanas though, are deathtraps waiting to happen haha.
I loved the old Katanas and the CB1100Rs. That was my era.
I had a CBX1000 (6cycl Honda) and remember being blown off whilst scraping around a corner on the way to the Bathurst races in 1983 by the new Katana. I was hanging on for dear life, racing and beating my mates, sparks coming off the crank case, when this cool Katana rider passed me on the outside, knee on the ground, and took one hand off the bars to give me a wave on the way round, and just rode away from all of us.
Shit. I would have given anything to have one at that moment, and would still like one to have in the back of the shed.

But that thing just dont do it for me.
I think that photo in the first post is actually a Stratoshere not a Katana.
The concept stratosphere had a few options for engine specs including a supercharged busa engine.
They also have an automatic gearbox with manual over ride and a camera mount in the nose between the headlights.

wHAt is it with supercharged busa concept engines yet theres not kits out there
to buy one?
