Leaving Sydney at about 7:30am and going straight up the boring highway to Bathurst... then doing brunch/lunch... a few slow laps of The Mountain, and heading back via Bells Line of Road, after all the morning damp has been washed away by lots of cars.
Meeting points:
Marrickville Town Hall (on Marrickville Road, near corner of Livingstone Road), meet at 7:30am and leaving at 7:45am
M4 Caltex (at Prospect) Westbound at 8:15am for 8:30 departure
Please post if you're interested and where good meeting spots would be to pick you up on the way, then I'll update the first post...
I'm interested Pan, however I won't know my work commitments for about 2 weeks. Would be a crime not to run the Ilford-Bathurst-Oberon bit don't you think?
If you know the way, I'm happy to follow. Probably do any "runs" after brunch though as it tends to be cold and slippery in the morning.
Its been a few years but I could look it up on a map, adds scenery and sweepers.
Maybe in I have Tomtom, I always get lost that far out, one wrong turn and you end up in Canberra (not thats there is anything wrong with Canberra)
May also be in, 2 up on the busa. Might want to meet at the service centre on the M4 westbound at the McDonalds. Those from the West could take the M4 Eastbound to Reservoir Rd, turn right, go under the bridge, then get back on the M4 Westbound. The service centre is then only a couple hundred meters.

I'm sure it's a Caltex station at the service centre between Reservoir Rd and Wallgrove Rd. Is this where you are thinking? There is a Maccas there for those who require coffee prior to riding.

Looks like it's going to be a cold one!!!! Better wear the warm stuff I think. There is supposed to be snow in the blue hills between now and Saturday so we had better keep an eye on the weather reports.

I can't make it, by the way its snowing up there take care if your going, sorry to say but someone copped it on the highway last Sunday up there into the wall, take care of black ice.
Bells line, well known for black ice, figure skating with a busa is no joy! have fun.
I'm going to postpone this one for a month or two given the bad weather we've had recently?
It was 3.8 degrees at Bathurst at noon today!
A friend who travels to Bathurst and back regularly said there's black ice all over the place.
