Well well well.,..... took my nice new bike out today. Parked it, put the disk lock on so no one would pinch it. ....... Guess what I forgot to do....... I rolled the bike back wards to move off and CRUNCH!... the disk lock has taken a chunk out of my front guard. I almost cried.

I'm not going to use the dam lock again though. Lucky I didnt do what I did on my old bike...... Launch it, with the lock still on....

So, where is the best place to get a replacement guard. I had a look on ebay.... anyone know anyone?

I am so angry at myself.Idiot2
I did the same once on a Triumph and fixed it with super glue. It was a clean break in the plastic and it lasted for over a year while I still had the bike. The repair was almost invisible.

I now have a computer technician's static strap fixed to the lock and I attach the wrist band to the clutch lever when it is on the bike. You can't forget it is on then.

You can get a new mudguard from Suzuki, one from the wreckers or a carbon fibre one if it has to be replaced. We were discussing this at the expo today....

Thanks busgo,

I am still beating myself about it... Ive been so careful. I could leave it, but I cant glue it, the plastic deformed a little.

The cable thing is a good idea. Thanks

does anyone have any contacts for good suppliers/wreckers? im in the Campbelltown area of Sydney.
Metropolitan wreckers at silverwater seem to have the most busa parts in Sydney

Hey don't feel to bad ,i did it twice.Havnt replaced the guard yet ! Lol2
Unlucky mistake.
Bet you won't do that again.
I purchased a disk lock strap from MCAS at Parramatta. Without it I probably would have done the same thing.
If the damage is not too severe it may be repaired and repainted.
See John at Mototech Smithfield for a free quote, does good work.
have never used a disc lock, wonder how many thousands I have saved myself so far?
you won't be the last to do that, i'm sure more than a few dozen have done this, i did it twice- once when i first got it and luckily the second time was before it was repaired... don't feel too stupid, just learn from it.
cheers

Yep, us Victorians dont seem to need putting those things on down here. Up in Sydney I hear its nearly compulsary to use one.

crazzy54

No still havent got one, the damage isnt too bad, but I would still like to get one........
I have one but u would have to get it painted. Its been used as a mould, no dings in it.

Thanks Kawasuki, I'll let you know,

Am looking into importing one from the states, with the Aussie $ looking so good at the moment, it seems like a fair option. But I will get back to you, thanks.....
