I dropped the Black and Grey this morning at work. Tried to ride away with the front disk lock on. She fell pretty hard on the right side., Thank God for those spikes, the large side spike saved a lot of damage. f****d the right mirror up, Gotta hate that. Some deep scratching to the right fairing panel - gotta consider an insurance claim but will have a closer look now. I just got out of bed after my last night shift. The pipe from the collector to the can is badly scratched as is the revolver cylinder bar end. That;s the serious stuff. Riding her down off a step and over she went as the front wheel locked up.. Could have been worse. As the disk lock chirruped at me to tell me the lock was being moved I realised the damned thing was still there - all of this as she went over pretty hard, I got my leg under her to reduce the damage, legs okay, my fav black jeans have a hole in the knee, bastard!Pi_freak

She will be mate. The fairing pannel scratching is pretty deep, think it might be farked, have to see if there's anyone who can fix the small but deep scratching with paint perhaps?

DUDE! I'm speechless.
Sorry to hear Max hope to see it looking shiny soon buy a strap that goes round the disk lock then over the handle bar to remind you its on there
Heidi, I wasn' really that speechless when she went down, just dog-tired after too may 12 hour shifts and not concentrating.

Rod - I really do need one of those straps aye!

I park the bike right next to the window where my desk sits on the other side. I go mobile several times a night to say G'day to my guys but most of the time stuck down paperwork. The area our office is is pretty shitty for petty crime, we have lost cars from out the front to thieves and the Black and Grey is turning into quite a pretty bike. The alternative is a good alarm I suppose but the Zena disk lock has kept her on the step and she's not been thieved so some thing's working. Would a heap of blokes in uniform all carrying guns have that sort of effect?Icon_rolleyes

them farking disc locks again, pay me a thousand and id never use them. sorry for your hurt max. better a scorpio alarm.

slowandsteady

Sorry to hear the bad news mate.
I've got an alarm (now) but still use the disc lock (I'm not paranoid - who said I am?) when it's at home......
Time for the stretchy strap.......

edit: with all those spikes, considering you kept the leg under it, surprised you don't have a few "puncture" wounds to show off!
Not good Max.......sorry to hear about the damage to a very nice bike ...... did it once myself & I was wide awake at the time too...I switched to a Kryptonite cable lock instead.
Mate!! :( ouch! sorry to hear - I have done that as well.... tho I some how held her on - after that I flung the disc lock in to the harbour in Sydney where it happened lol never again to buy another due to that.
Hope it dont do ya in too much to fix it ;)
bad news bloke go have a jd. hope it aint to much to get her fixed!

bandit

Sorry to hear max hope you get her fixed up
That's a friggin shit Max - hope you get it all shiny without too much $$$.

Real trap for me as I don't use the lock consistently - only if riding to work.

More often than not you're at full lock getting out of parking spot (did it once). Then there's the other problem, put nice hardened padlock on the RG500 years ago, remembered it no probs - just sat there looking at it 'cos what I didn't remember was the farken key!

Bugger! Max!
Glad to hear your ok

I can relate to how you may of felt, I went to ride my bike of out of my car park one morning.: I forgot to take the disc lock off and I went down.
Fortunately I saved it from any major damage, because I was under it.
Thankfully 2 of neighbors came to my rescue and picked me up. Embarassed
