I have to go to Tamworth for a day... I figured it would be a good spin up the Putty Road and back...

Anyone want to chuck a sickie and join me?

From Conroy’s Gap to Castlereagh, there’s none can ride like me.

Boy I wish this could have been this week.

I look like taking up a new job on the 1st May for 3 months.
If I don't happen to be working on the 11th, I'll meet you somewhere along the way.

Anyone able to tell me how to get to Tamworth the scenic way? Been out before, but always followed others. Bruce is off to WA so I'm going alone...

Putty Road... how to I get there from Marrickville and where will it get me to?

If anyone has one, can you bring/lend me a map on Thursday night at the coffee meeting (or email it to me)?

Cheers,

BUSGO

Pan,
At the moment I am still not working but I have a hot date in Sydney on the 11th. Sorry I can't go with you but, I can tell you how to get there.

Head out to Windsor and then take the road to Singleton. Once you get to Singleton (via the Putty Rd), turn left onto the New England Hwy. Tamworth is about another 2 hours North from Singleton.
There are better more scenic routes but this is the most direct for you.

Busgo, I was talking to Ruffred, who suggested I leave Sydney very early and head to Wauchope, then do the Oxley to Tamworth...

What do you think?

Any chance you could postpone your Sydney trip?

BUSGO

Pan,
RuffRed's suggested route is better but it will take you all day to get there.
From my place to Tamworth via that route is about 5 hours plus you have to add the time from your place to Raymond Terrace and once you get to Tamworth you have to go home again don't you?
My date in Sydney that night is with Dusty Springfield at the Casino, so NO I can't postpone sorry.

P.S. If you want to travel up to my place on the Wednesday arvo or evening and then proceed to Tamworth on the Thursday morning, you are more than welcome.

Trip postponed due to unforseen circumstances.

If anyone wants to chuck a sickie and tag along on the 5th of June, please let me know...

Throwdown

I know I've gone soft now, cos all I can think of is how cold it's going to be, and I have ridden daily since coming to Oz, and alot in minus brass monkeys temperatures.

If postponed, remember World Cup starts on 9th.

Hey Pan, the 5th of June is a monday.

Mark

BUSGO

It is all in your mind Mark.
According to the Greek Orthodox calendar, it could be a Thursday......I think the Chinese say it is a monkey day and the Irish say it is time for a Guiness....

(You and I know it is a Monday in Tamworth but PAN had planned the trip earlier and postponed it)

If I am available, I'll do the run with you PAN.

If you come along, I'll even go slow so the Blue Busa can keep up...

PAN, if you are going to Tamworth and back home to Sydney the long way in one day, there will be NO going slow.

So, anyone for lunch in Tamworth on Monday?

This is the way I figured it may go:

6am meet at Windsor/Wilberforce (maybe at the river/round-a-bout??)

About 2 hours to Singleton?
Coffee and brekkie there... (40 minutes)

About 2 hours to Tamworth?
Lunch there at 11:30ish... (90+ minutes)

Do what we gotta do in Tamworth, then leave at 2:30...?
Decide whether we travel back along the Putty or main road on the day...

Does this sound realistic?
