Is it normal for my new Busa to start a bit weird when cold ???
When I mentioned it to my local dealer at the first service he told me that it is normal and it is because of the fuel injection.
My 02 GSX 1400 used to fire up straight away and that also had fuel injection.

PS: Should I go back to full mineral oil for the next change because when I had the first service they put in a semi synthetic (Sylkoline)

Cheers
my 08 does the same thing, hesitates a bit but then clears out after a few seconds, i dont touch the throttle on start up but recall reading in the owners handbook to use 1/8th throttle when cold, but im presuming that is relevant to the rest of the world where the winters are below freezing.

Hi there , i do 5.30 AM start ups ( if on day shift ) and 6 am Start ups if on night shift - so both very early in the morning and at a very cold time of day - and my 2000 starts with no hesitation or misses at the time of day - and starts the same if started at 2 pm when warm outside- when at home its kept in the garage - when finishing work at 6 am ( 12 hour shifts so start 6 pm the day before ) its kept under an awning

My previous bike - ( fireblade) was a little temperamental at this tine of day and required a little bit of choke and NO throttle, but keep in mind this was a Carbi bike and not fuel injected - if i used throttle it was a bitch to start and when it did , it ran on 3 cylinders till the fouled plug cleared itself after a few min on the road .....

hope this helps

3/08 busa does the same hasnt had first service yet Yes
Mine is the same maybe because it has no manual choke like the old ones Confused I now start with no throttle and its better, I was thinking because I put a PC3 on it but sounds like its not the case after all, but mine never revs up to 2000 with on the choke/fast idle ..........
My K8 stumbles for a few seconds on cold start and then settles to a 1500rpm idle till it gets to about 1/4 op temperature then goes back to about 1100rpm at idle.
It started beautifully in the warmer weather.
Thanks Heaps for your input
Had the Beast a month now and over 1200 clicks.
What a Machine !!!
Not enough Road and a lot of paranoia (Cops)
The Mrs finds it heaps smoother to hold on, as opposed to the 14
Feels like its on rails handlingwise

Totaly stoked

Yes
yea this cop paranoia has really become an issue nowadays. friend of mine had to leave bike at scene for getting caught doing 152 i think. Now with VIC impounding bikes under the "hoon" laws. not to mention all them frakkin cameras.

152 is just for breakfast its nuttin, "I was only in 2nd gear Officer!"
