Thanks guys
Of the 4 I have rode, the vibration is the same - even on the 05 model with 6k on it I felt the vibrations were a bit rough - I think it might be my hard-bottomed boots that make my toes tingle.

I am in Brisbane - amd my budget is $10k, well at least that is what I might buy this one for.

It is blue/silver, perfect paint, no falls/scratches, no mods, 46k. Only prob I had was the tapping - can feel through handle bars, but goes away when clucth is pulled in.

Hi there Kompressor

I have a 2000 Hayabusa that I got a few years ago with 19000km on the clock. I now have 48000km and have had no major issues. The bike feels more run in than it did at 19K Gearbox has also become smoother, esp in the 5-6 shift which used to be notchy if you raced the change.

The 99's were a bit happier in the top end, anything after 2001 was retuned for more midrange as the safetycrats limited the 01 onwards to 286km/hr

Good luck with your purchase.

RE: Hi - I'm new to forum - looking for Hayabusa!!! - Kompressor - 05-07-2007

So I guess what I'm asking is - should I worry about the tapping in the engine/clutch? It sounds fine when clutch handle is pulled in, but when released it makes the engine sound as though it's tapping, and the tap can be felt through the handle bars. :(

I also noticed the fuel consumption on the CPU was 10k/l, is this bad?!!

Tapping noise with clutch out............(ok with clutch pulled in)......... *check the idle speed* ........should be spot on 1150 for the 99. They idle a bit raggy/rattly  if the idle is set too low. If the test bike is idling low & you don't want to touch anything,  slowly move the fast idle lever to get 1150 (hot) then have a listen, it should smooth out ok if all is as it should be.

Not if you ask HeidiLol3 By the way, did you ever get that sorted Heidi?

Normally would be better than this unless it is being riden hard.

RE: Hi - I'm new to forum - looking for Hayabusa!!! - maggot - 06-07-2007

well iverage about 16k/ltr and thats flogging the absolute hell out of it. I was getting those sort of figures but a dynoture at petes sorted that out no problem.

GC heidi's fuel use is a cutom feature so you can blow 6 foot flames at cars when they flick lit ciggies out the window at you

RE: Hi - I'm new to forum - looking for Hayabusa!!! - Tag 13 - 06-07-2007

10k/l is pretty shitty....

RE: Hi - I'm new to forum - looking for Hayabusa!!! - BUSGO - 06-07-2007

Definitely needs a tune.
Should be averaging 18 to 20 k/ltr at legal speeds.

my bike with the turbo at full noise gets 12-13k/l and thats rich.

im wondering how you could get the k/l down as low as ten.

RE: Hi - I'm new to forum - looking for Hayabusa!!! - Heidi1 - 06-07-2007

Mine is considerably better now. I thought it made the bike unique those flames and anyone riding behind me didn't have to stop for pertol, they could just use what I was blowing out.

Thanks
I might leave that one then!
I don't know how it was ridden. I just noticed when I looked. The 05 model with 6k on it had 13.4k/l in the display as well. Seems a bit high considering it just sits there and gets the odd ride (flog?) home with a worker.
Cheers
